Dr. Anthony J. Fitzpatrick sits at the intersection of executive district leadership and academic rigor. As sitting Assistant Superintendent for the Delsea Regional and Elk Township School Districts in New Jersey — and a former Director of School Innovation at the New Jersey Department of Education — he doesn’t just study educational systems; he runs them, daily, across complex K–12 landscapes.

He serves as doctoral faculty and dissertation chair at the University of Phoenix and as School Leadership Advisor to the Drexel University ALLIED Hub and Ed.D. program. Across 25+ years, his career has been defined by a single mission: instructional coherence — the discipline of making high-level strategy translate into measurable classroom impact.

A premier strategist in resource acquisition, Anthony has secured over $9 million in competitive grants in the last three years, including the GAINS grant that launched New Jersey’s first state-registered Lead Teacher Apprenticeship. A recognized voice in the Science of Reading and MTSS, he presents on national stages including DyslexiaCon, and is the author of The Evolving Science of Reading, the forthcoming Corwin series Decoding to Discourse, the IMPACT Framework, and the Blueprint for Success series on MTSS implementation.

Beyond the boardroom, Anthony is a dual United States and Italian citizen and a proud (self-deprecating) New Jerseyan who travels with his husband, Michael, and their dogs, Quincy and Hannah.
